I just recently bought a RSX and now my car is in my name. I want to keep my old tags 1TZ JENN however the dealership told me I couldnt transfer them because they were in my fathers name.. If i go to DMV can they take care of this for me? Or am is SOL?
your dad can't just sign them over to you. My brother recently bought his car and was gonna put the tags from the beater I used to have on there (it was in my father's name). But when my brother and dad went to the DMV with the tags in hand they told my dad that the only was that my brother could get the tags would be if the car went in my dad's name as well as my brothers. so both their names are on the title now.
