hondas sohc is just 2 camshafts driven by 1 cam gear. So its still 16 valve. But dohc with 2 cam driven by 2 cam gears give you more adjustabitly. Also how does the valve size compare.

a vacuum leak could also cause this. if you think about it, if you have a vacuum leak and your car wants to stall out, the IAC will open to 160 (fully open) to compensate for the loss in vacuum then slowly close itself to achieve desired RPM. know anybody with some kind of scanner that'll plug into your car that will watch IAC position?
if not, just check everything for vacuum leaks. brake booster line running to your intake manifold can leak and its under quite a bit of pressure. rubber intake grommets/elbows etc can tear and leak vacuum. just look around under the hood for anything that seems off. if you need some help just holler i'll come check it out if no one else will
