as for the vtec head, id say def go with a vtec head...
i mean the ability to rev out to say 9k rpm can help when running a larger turbo that flows more air more effiecnetly at any given boost level...
so with that said..
im no honda god, but i know enough about them to suggest an LS/vtec setup with a t3/t67 (sold by full-race), at about 8-10psi reving to 9k having fun with about 300+whp on the daily.
how long will the stock internals last at 300-350whp? eh, try it out, and over time start buying parts for a built setup

Just cause you have a vtec head doesn't mean you can spin the shit out of it. The LS crank and b20 cranks aren't balanced as well as a GSR, b16 or type r motors. That's one main reason you can't take them to 9k like others. Put a vtec head and take it to 8000-8200 safely. Too many variables in every setup. Look at what your final goal is and build it from there.

7k sucks...
lots of power can be made over a 1000 rpm range.

i would rather make torque at 2500 then hp at 9000. less of a chance of shit going boom.

torque down low kills a motor faster than HP up high...
in all honesty, monster torque kills...
for us 4 banger guys it does.
