i got a failure to maintain proper control of the vehicle charge last year. had a clean record before it. i got 1 yr of unsupervised probation and 40 hr. community service and my insurance just about doubled. kept my license though.
Oh and its a 3 pt. violation or at least it was when i went.

Sorta like a homophone i think.

Homophone- words that sound alike but are spelled differently and have different meanings. Ex: here and hear; right and write; no and know

damn

i don't think they'll drop it but hopefully it'll get bumped down to something.
a year of probation and 40 hours of comm service sounds a little much.
i'm gonna show them the alignment sheet because the rear camber was very off. that means that the full surface of the rear tires was not contacting the ground. then i'm gonna tell them my rear differential is getting replaced to an LSD to prevent the back from skidding so easily.

any other thoughts?

Breaking traction of any sorts equals reckless driving. My advice is for you to hire a lawyer. Sorry it's gotta be that way.

I just got back from court for a reckless I got during an accident, judge dropped it to improper driving with $275 fine. I might appeal and try to get it dropped completely. It was no where near my fault.

i would get a lawyer but my court date is tomorrow. I had no idea that failiure to maintain control was a reckless. I'm gonna ask them for a continuence and then try to get a lawyer. The cops guaged my skid marks and said that they setimate I was traveling between 30 and 35 mph. Since I didn't break the speed limit, I didn't think that I would get a serius charge like this.

I guess we'll see what happenes tomorrow...

You can get a continuance the day of your court case if you want, or you can call them up and ask for one (their offices close at 4, so you better get your ass moving). I think it costs ten bucks, but if it helps you get a lesser charge, you might want to consider it.

its not the same is a wreckless charge. wreckless is a 6 pt. violation and this is only a 3. when i went to court i did not go with a lawyer or ever consult 1. i just told them what happened(to a degree) but like i said i also went in with a clean record.
