Thats like saying a 4 barrell carb. is for fuel economy...Or a 2 cylinder S/C engine is for fuel economy......Its just not true.....

VTEC is not a bad technology at all. It allows more aggresive cam profiles while still keeping driveability and fuel economy. Its not just for fuel economy, but it allows you to have that and power. However alot of people have the attitude I have vtec and I can beat anyone. For all out top end power, vtec becomes alot less important. Just throw on some big cams and forget about bottom end losses. I only wish nissan hade given use the SR20VE... we are so deprived.
