damn its like you know what kind of condition my intake gasket is in lol, its actually in great shape but for 23.99 ill buy a new one and then i will have all the new gaskets needed and if someone says anything about exhaust mani gasket im going to really laugh. yeah there are a lot of guys that can do this swap in that timeframe and i dont see whats wrong with me asking for some help on my first swap when its my only form of transportation. the block is being replaced because water got into my cai, so thats to everyone making false assumptions. ignorance is bliss.
Im not sure if you're new to the whole automotive technical industry or what, but based on your posts I'll assume that you are new to field. Having said that, swapping "blocks" as you have seemed to think it is involves taking the internals from one block and installing them into another. In addition you must swap the head, manifolds, etc etc. NOW, what I think you mean is that you are swapping bottom ends, with the internals already installed. As I mentioned this is called the BOTTOM END. THis could indeed be done in one day, however, swapping blocks as I mentioned above would be a different story. And as a common rule, it is usual to replace the head gaskets, INTAKE gaskets, exh gaskets, and generally any other gaskets that are NOT MEANT to be reinstalled. Let me know if you need to know anything else you may not know....
you probably dont need to even pull the IM off the head if you just swapping blocks.
to do it the right way he does, to get that head resurfaced, i always have heads resurfaced whenver they are pulled off a block, just for my piece of mind......

Damn, thank you. YOu cannot expect to take a soft ass aluminum head and not resurface it without blowing a head gasket. They simply warp too easily.

yes they do, you take a honda barely passed the middle mark on your coolant temp guage and you prolly warped your head......and i feel sorry for people that let there car get all the way to hot and then turn it off, they just wasted some money right there, if my car even thinks about overheating, as soon as it gets to the middle mark that bitch is shut off and fixed......
well true yes, but by the sounds of it...he wants this all done in 1 day, resurface probably is out of the question haha.
yea it looks that way, it can be done and some people do get away with it for a while, but its just a piece of mind thing to know you have a good flat surface and a nothing to interfere with your headgasket keeping a seal, just things that i like to do......
