Is VTEC very predictable? I mean it might not be as bad on a FWD car but woudn't it kinda fuck you up if the VTEC kicks on in a turn?
If you are driving the car all out, and are tuned correctly you should remain in VTEC at all times in a road course or auto-x. As far as whether to boost or stay NA i say boost, unless all you want to do is Auto-x. But i would go B20b instead of B18. More displacement and cheaper to buy.
wowzers, ya'll are talkin about AutoX when i'm settin it up for drag.... come on now. i just don't feel as if LS-Vtec is gonna last as long as i need it, and if i turbo it, it'll be easier to fix.
b20 is nice, yet not that great for boost....the stock sleeves are very weak, LS is the better way to go
the b20 has thinner sleeves but overall I recommend it more than a b18 as the torque will be greater and overall they have about the same capabilities stock. Both blocks will take around 300whp stock internals and 10psi. Depends on the turbo of course....but if I were you I'd sleeve it so you build it right the first time.
alright guys, ya'll made the point clear.... the verdict is BOOSTED. thanks for all your opinions and help. lemme know if anyone is tryin to sell a full LS swap. thanks again
