I dont know this for a fact but I have been told the HID lights run physically cooler than standard Halogen type bulbs.

HID bulbs in a non projector housing look like shit and causes extreme amounts of glare, and yes, they do run cooler and will not melt your housings. Like someone said before the r6s have a nice setup already. Although you still have your standard 55w bulb in there, the projector to people infront makes the light look purple/blue. Sorta like how a s2000's headlamps are when you are in front of them. I'm sure with HID's they would look sick.

i had HID's in my bike a while back. they were AMAZING. i only took them out because i was riding around on my learners at the time (i know i know) and i didnt want to get pulled for them being too bright. i bought some silverstars and i like them alot, but they were nothing like the HID's. i was thinking about putting them back in the bike, but im not sure if i want to do that.

i had to make a special washer because the hid itself isnt as big in dia. as the h4 bulb. i took some metal roofing flashing and cut a circle with it, then took my drill press with a grinding bit and ovaled it out until it fit over a hid bulb. (i used a bad hid, its not the ones that where in the bike. you cannot touch a hid or a h4 bulb with your bare hands).

id sell them if someone is interested in buying them. i posted them for sale when i put the silverstars in, but no one was interested, or they just talked about buying them and nothing ever happened with it.
