They were, but they were turned over to a private company years ago.
I don't see a problem with a couple of shitty neighborhoods in Norfolk.
Actually your wrong. All those neighborhoods are owned by NRHA and are still considered projects. They are rent free or so close to it that it doesnt matter. They are considered public housing for the city. Also, I thought I already pointed out more than just a couple shitty neighborhoods in Norfolk.
This is Norfolks response to inquiries about public housing...
"Unfortunately, the demand for public housing and housing choice vouchers is so great that we’ve had to close our waiting lists indefinitely. But check back here periodically to learn when these waiting lists will reopen."
Translation: our projects are already full of lazy shitheads...cant handle any new ones.

Actually, they're not owned by the NRHA. They're subsidized by the NHRA.
The difference? They're still owned by management companies. Those companies have an agreement with the NRHA to be paid a certain amount of money for the apartments. Whatever the tenants can't come up with, the NHRA pays for.
They'll also do that with houses. I guess the houses are owned by the NHRA, too?

True, and with as many shitty neighborhoods as Portsmouth has, there will always be a place for the lazy, stupid and poor.
Someone has to pick up the slack for norfolk. We know that city has been overflowing with them for years. When they get forced thru the tunnel we have to help you out. Like a good neighbor....Portsmouth is here.

So, basically, you're admitting that Portsmouth is the landfill for the trash of the 757.
