I got sentenced that day to 6 months all suspended but 8 days $650 fine and 4 days suspension on my license . I appealed it and then she set me a 2,000 secured bond. I bonded out. I went into Circuit court for the appeal a month later. they gave me 6 months in jail all suspended but 4 days. and a $471 fine and no suspension on my license . My advice to you is. Get a lawyer and if you dont get off the first time. APPEAL!!! Either way I did 4 days in Jail and got a reckless driving charge on my record. $471 fine and i cant screw up for 6 months or ill go back for the rest of the 6 months.
what was jail like? I've got a court date this Friday for my motorcycle ticket.

I have had three wreckless driving tickets (nothing im proud of) but the best way is if you have an older car get it calibrated, if its somewhat new, dont even try, judge will just more than likely over look that aspect of it. Dont get a lawyer, your gonna pay some lawyer anywhere from 500-1000 dollars for something that the judge was going to do anyway with or without the lawyer (i hired a lawyer, doesnt help that much) and when it all boils down to it, its what mood the judge is in and what kind of impression you make on him. Dress respectful, speak resepectful and dont argue. I got out of my last one with luck, the 63 yr old lady behind me with NO PRIOR TICKETS, got her license suspended for six months and also got 1 year probation. So as i said it all depends on the judge man. Thats my opinion though.

If you serve a weekend, is it really in the drunk tank with a ton of other people? If I have to pull weekends, I want it to be by myself... I don't like to be around other people as it is, let alone in a little concrete block.

It's ridiculous that I might serve time for a speeding ticket on a motorcycle, but the person that hit my car and ran, drinking and driving.. hasn't even had charges pinned on him.

definately get a lawyer, get your car calibrated (there is a place in va beach that will give you "good" calibration sheet for about 100 bucks, but thats your deal if you wanna risk that. you would only need 5mph off anyways), attend driver improvement.

my wreckless ended up gettin reduced but all in all i still have to pay 1000+ bucks for it.

one of my draftsmen went to jail for a bounced check to the cable company. i ask him about it a lot because it's a hilarious story, but on topic...

i think he spent 12 hours of it in holding cells and being transported around.

the time that he was locked away he spent in a big cage inside a bigger room with a shitload of bunk beds, a TV, some card tables, etc. with toilets and showers on one wall.

I highly doubt it will be that glamorous in Bedford County..

It might have an old rusty toilet and a few rubber mats on the fucking floor, full of smelly drunk rednecks. I hope my attorney is worth a fuck and gets me out of jail time... I mean CHRIST.... What the fuck am I paying him for? I could have gone the speed that I was going barely shifting into second gear.

Depending on what year your car is go & get it calibrated! Once it gets calibrated bring in your driving record frm the DMV & also go to the Drivers Improvement Clinic if its your first time within the last year(only). Go to court & dress up like a catholic school boy and speak softly but profoundly & there is no need for a lawyer. But ultimately it all depends on the judges mood that day because if he or she did not get laid the night before than you may be in trouble......j/k....Do what is stated above & you should be fine....My brother had 3 reckless tickets within 2 years and if you play the game right than you will be alright. Admit guilt if the cop is there & DON"T admit guilt if the cop is not present in the court room. But don't assume just because the cop is not there that you will get off because the judge can just reschedule your court date for another day!......Peace
