future planning: which kit for next project? (56k)
ha, thats what im hoping for. i want to have the car itself hit the street very rarely, but mostly use it on the circuit to improve my driving as a whole (which is the main reason why i'm more interested in the amemiya kit, because it performs). hopefully ill beable to build one of the few rx7's on the board that doesn't blow up every 30k.
^ Ok... this post bugs me
Take that $6000 body kit and go spend all your money on driving events and schools to actually learn to drive. A body kit will not make you a better driver or make your car perform better.
You need to start with contact patches, working from the ground up. Good tires, good brakes, and a great racing seat with harnesses will make you far faster on a course than any body kit or horsepower mods.
Please re-think your plan.
Now if you just want a great looking car then get it by all means, but don't get it because you want to "improve performance". The best way to spend your money is wrenching on the nut behind the wheel.

the main help i will need in the future is deciding on which fuel accessories/management to get for the setup i will run. i'm not just some ricer thats going to slap on an exhaust, a crazy bodykit, and call it a day. i've been planning this for quite some time, and now i'm close to getting it started.
if all goes well, the car is going to be built from the ground up.
^ Are you building this car for driving events or for show/cruising?
Reason I ask is that making this completely kickass car will not make you able to drive it well.
When I first started doing HPDE's I wanted every mod under the sun for my car. A fellow Z06 driver, a very good one, was turning 2.10's at VIR on stickey tires with an otherwise stock car. Most novices run 2.22+ out there. My best lap is a 2.12 on Hoosiers.
He (tim) told me once you can beat me, then worry about mods. Learning how to drive a car to it's potential is important. Everytime you mod the car you change the dynamics all over again.
Also, if you're building a track car, it's far cheaper to buy a pre-built car and have money to fix it, because then that person will take all the depreciation. Modded cars and tracked cars aren't worth anything.

I agree with Brian's post...
With the money saved between the cheaper of the two kits, you will have spent it so much better on seat time and instruction. Hell, you could stay at a five star hotel with valet service next to VIR with that money saved. Definately a very good point.
