Right Hand Drive?

Pretty much all the loopholes that importers were using to import grey market vehicles to the US have been closed, so the only way to bring over a car that has no US equivalent and be able to drive it without any mileage restrictions, you would have to go through the same process for legalizing a vehicle that MotorEx did so they could bring over Skylines, which is a very time-consuming and expensive process.
If you don't mind having a mileage restriction, there are other ways to bring over cars, like classifing them as show or race vehicles.

I was about to say that. The jaguar XJ220 is illegal here in the states unless you use some collector car registaration methods.

In the case of the McLaren it required (in 1997) the removal of the 2 side seats, adding a front bumper and changing out the headlights. That's what the company that brought one of them over has said publically anyway.
Don't forget for $1M you also get a gold plated titanium tool set and a CD player that can withstand 1.5G with the car among other goodies

That particular McLaren was imported under a different set of rules than the XJ220 in whatever video you're talking about.
The XJ220 was most likely done under a Temporary Import for display (this is the one that's under at least a time limit, I'm not sure about the milage one) while the McLaren was done via an ICI and can be driven on public roads. As a matter of fact the guy that bought it drives it to work everyday o_O
