I actually think a newish 600cc sport bike is still too much for a beginner, but you can't convince people of that so it's not even worth commenting further...

 

im 5'8 175 and i learned on 1100 and got a busa a year later...you have to respect the bike...a moped will kill you if you act stupid...the bike will only go as fast as you make it...i can do 10mph and also had it to 190 mph...get a bigger bike...600 are good for learning but in a week youll want something faster.. or better yet...dont ever ride a bigger bike...then youll be satisfied with the one u have

 

Want bigger than 600cc? Is it not fast enough? I've been riding on the street for 5+ years and don't see the need for anything faster than my 600cc.

 

I got a 600 3 monthes ago 06 gsxr and i've put 10k on it now. I don't think you would need anything faster then that. It has over 100 hp and you can shift at 16000rpms...

You need to get a busa or that new big Kawi. If you get anything smaller with your size you'll get bored quickly and want a larger bike. Just go with the biggest from the get go and you'll be fine.
