Fuck that shit. Honey, not to be all over your nuts or anything but if A parent buys a kid a car like that they will never be able to appreciate anything later on in life. Thats just plain stupid of those parents. i wouldnt want my rents to buy me a car like that just because I wouldnt feel like it was mine. so fuck the parent buying brand new car shit.

fast car + just got a license is asking for problems.. i made the mistake of buying a slow car to start with and i regreted it at first when my car "sucked" because it was slow but then i worked more and bought another car that was actaully fast.. kept the old one as a beater... if i could go back and redo it i would do it the same way.. i KNOW if i had had the fast car to start with i would have wrecked it msot likely.. i learned how to drive responsibly with my "slow" car... and now i apply it to a nice one... when i was in high school i was one of the 1% or so of kids with sports cars who didn't total them.. i bet at least like 40 kids in my class totaled their cars the same year they got their license.. and over half of them were mommy's or daddy's z28, trans-am, mustang GT, etc... thisd one kid's dad bought him a LT1 camaro, he wrecked it 6 months later and his parents bought him a prelude. he then wrecked that and his parents bought him ANOTHER LT1 camaro.. this kid maybe had a GPA of 1.0, glad he earned it

some kids parents need to be shot... but you can't judge that just by seeing a kid in a car.. now if the bish was weaving and driving recklessly i would have said you should have gotten out and beaten the fuck out of him for endangering a nice car

Well who the hell cares what you think, who the fuck are you to tell someone what they should buy for their kid...

that's what i'm pissed about - parents who buy a brand new, sports/high-performance car the day their kid turns 16... just asking for trouble, it's like they really trust their kid not to race the hell out of it.

another factor his.. his childhood was one of the most shittiest i have ever heard of. he tells me and my brother both that he wants us to have things he would have never been able to have when he was young.
same here

my dad runs into good deals on cars and since he owns a tire store he gets good deals on rims and tires too...you think if my parents said hey here's a new car or my dad said hey i ran into some nice rims you want them? id say nah its cool ill buy my own...no

Alot of parents do make their kids work for what they give them. You also have to understand that rich parents do expect alot from their children, too. How many of you are expected to make it into Harvard, Yale, MIT, Caltech, or Cornell? If you came from public school, probably only a few.

It's like I said... jealousy sucks. Accept that people are better off than you. Parents don't have to be hard asses to teach kids how to live. Accept the fact that your parents didn't want to waste thousands of dollars on your first car... and accept the fact that they justify it to you and themselves as teaching you a "life lesson." If you're never gonna be rich, it's probably a great lesson to learn.

But some people don't need to learn that lesson. So rich people can buy a lambo, wreck it, and buy another. They can buy their kids new evolutions every week if they wanted. They can live in huge houses with all the extras. That doesn't mean rich people don't live in reality... it's just a far different reality than a broke man's reality. And I can guarantee that their children will be prepared to take over and run their family's businesses and manage their lifestyles appropriately when the time comes.

And about the car... I have a wrx, and it's MUCH safer than my first (sub 200hp) maxima... even in it's current high 12sec state. I'd give my kids an evo or sti over any 2wd car any day.
Rexer for the most part I have respected most things you have said on this site. That comment is rediculous though. That was spoken like a true spoiled little shit. All this talk about a "broke man", it seems like you are putting yourself on a higher level than someone that doesn't have much money. I've been on both sides of the spectrum. I've lived with my mother on welfare. She never told me that she didn't buy me stuff in order to teach me a lesson, She told me she simply couldn't afford it. And more recently, I've lived with my father who I can almost guarentee makes more money than 90% of the people you've ever met. He owns 7 airplanes, 5 cars the cheapest of which is an Audi S4, a boat, 8 motorcycles including a Ducati 998, his own airport, and a huge house on a 90 acre plot. He owns and operates Schultz's North Air Flight aerial application service, and Schultz's Polaris and Artic Cat which sells everything from snowmobiles to high end lawn and garden equipment. You know what? He started on the bottom and worked his way up. He made me pay for my first car. It was a 78 Dodge Challenger and I earned the money to buy it working at the airport for minimum wage. I thank him for it too. I've learned more form him that I would from any "rich" parent that would have just given me whatever I wanted. Your snobby rich little boy attitude sucks. You have a lot to learn man.

What's your problem bro? Who am I? I'm a 23 year old adult who has earned everything I have ever gotten. Like I said, it's not my place to say if a parent should or shouldn't buy their children cars. Without a doubt though, parents should not buy their children something like an EVO. Chill the fuck out bro.
