Should of been smart and taken a picture of your car when it was stock.

I went in and used a old picture. When I walked up Judge asked if I had a picture I said yes, handed it to my officer she glanced at it told the Judge "looks good" judge dropped the charge.

Judge or officer never asked how recent the picture was, never asked me if I had changed the exhaust, and in the picture you could even see the registration sticker from 05. So while it wasent a current picture of my car, I never really lied...

Oh and yes I drove the car to court... dont have a fart can just header and lack there of everything else.

 

I got pulled for having a "defective exhaust" by a cop on my way to norfolk from VA beach.
He told me he heard me screaming down the street. Oddly enough, there was a ricey ass car that was ahead of me, with an oddly enough ricey exhaust but whatever.

When I went to court to fight it (knowing full well my exhaust wasnt stock, but not "defective" and certainly not screaming) all I had to do was tell the judge my exhaust was not defective, and that the cop could not prove otherwise being he didn't have a meter or any sort of gauge to compare my car too.

She smiled, looked at the cop and said "yeah, that would have helped" and dismissed it.

Cop was a dick (not for pulling me, but as an attidude he had when he did) Which prompted me to fight it.

a modded car has nothing to do with being a criminal moron. If this wasn't such a communist state it might be much better. Instead our worthless police departments can't find or stop the real criminals and gangs. Hell my wife was in a serious accident happened right in front of me we called the cops took them 15 minutes to show up and across the street at the 7 eleven on rolling road what do I see 2 big waste of tax payers money pull into the place and we are still waiting for a cop to take a report. FFCPD is worthless. All you cops on here are worthless. oh yeah my old neighbors car that was stolen in front of the police station by west springfield terrace...It's still missing thanks FFCPD.

§ 46.2-1049. Exhaust system in good working order.

No person shall drive and no owner of a vehicle shall permit or allow the operation of any such vehicle on a highway unless it is equipped with an exhaust system in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual levels of noise; provided however, that for motor vehicles, such exhaust system shall be of a type installed as standard factory equipment, or comparable to that designed for use on the particular vehicle as standard factory equipment. An exhaust system shall not be deemed to prevent excessive or unusual noise if it permits the escape of noise in excess of that permitted by the standard factory equipment exhaust system of private passenger motor vehicles or trucks of standard make.

The term "exhaust system," as used in this section, means all the parts of a vehicle through which the exhaust passes after leaving the engine block, including mufflers and other sound dissipative devices.

Chambered pipes are not an effective muffling device to prevent excessive or unusual noise, and any vehicle equipped with chambered pipes shall be deemed in violation of this section.

Everyone knows having an exhaust on a car is illegal because of noise standards, it's just another easy way for the state to rake the cash in. People are just wondering why every person is getting pulled over and harrased because of them, while real crimes are going unsolved.

RANT WARNING - I was arrested and put in jail for wearing a mask in public, it was under my motorcycle helmet, acting as a wind protector, but just another easy way for the state to bend me over and rape me.
This whole state's police and law systems are backwards and F'ed up. During my trial the guy in front of me was caught trespassing on state property with a underage female and had possetion of illegal drugs with intent to sell, and walked out of court with a $50 tresspasing fine.

And about the ticket, I put my tail between my legs and paid the $330 exhaust ticket. Screw the state of VA, I tried to move away and they just followed my ass and brought me back. Next time I am leaving the country.

Thats a real steep fine. That sounds very expensive for a exhaust ticket.

Think what you want. I chose that route for my beater and guess what. I have gotten pulled 3 times since february for my stock exhaust.
