Need opinions on flat tv's WTB one for my room..tv lovers please respond.
ok so heres the deal i work at bestbuy home theater dept if your going to game go and get an lcd yes plasmas have the white wash and pixel shifting but what they dont tell you is that ever time you do that your forcing the tv to burn its pixels which brings down the life of your tv and yes there are a few companys that make the panels for the tv LG is a huge company that makes most of the tv panels but thats it each company takes its own take on the internals of it one of the best ones for gaming is going to be a samsung you have the elite so you can do 1080p with it thats what it was made for and samsung was microsofts choice to display there xbox thats why anytime you see a 360 on display it has a samsung tv on it they said they tested lots of tvs and the samsungs looked best for the system so samsung and microsoft developed game mode together on there tvs which enhance the colors on the game depending on what type of game your playing i would probley do a samsung for your case and alsow the lower end tvs like bestbuys insignia are ok for the price you pay they look kinda cloudy colors arent as nice like the others but you get what you pay for hope that helps
ohh and by the way if you find a tv online cheap lots of times bestbuy will price match it depending on who it is as long as its not ebay or a wholeseller so thats something else you can do i did it for my customers all the time

i tried..hahah
Well im planning to use it as my bedroom tv. I have cox but i'm not sure what their highest output quality is. As previously stated I have a 360 "elite" (if that matters) w/ the HD cables and I want to get the most out of those, I know that the 360 quality goes up to 720 so that puts me in a good position to save some dough.
My 360 is now my dedicated DVD player as well.
I also plan on using it as a monitor ( *note: i have a dedicated monitor but i will switch to the tv for watching movies off the cpu or cool games)
OH YEA...
This is just a little off topic but i "heard" that 360 will upscale a noraml dvd and make it look better. Is this true?
Also the HD DVD drive for the 360...should I get it?

If you have or plan on buying HD dvd's.. then I'd get the drive. You would also have to get the HD service from cox. (http://www.cox.com/hr/cable/hdtv/default.asp)
