Basically, if you're a rich-looking white person 35+ you can do as you wish, anything under that... if they can't find a reason to pull you over, they'll make up one. In fact, I was pulled for an expired inspection sticker that was still valid... I did get an apology, but pretty much the fucker wanted to pull me over because I was young and they hadn't pulled me in a while, and has absolutely NO reason to.

I've only gotten pulled over for tint and my radar detector. Other than that i've never had issues like some do (no front plate, exhaust, being too low, really blue HIDs, etc..). Just dont call attention to yourself and they usually wont bother you.

Oh yeah,
Wear a suite, or dress very nice everywhere, and they wont hassle you much if they actually do pull you over.

I pulled the, "Oh i'm justing heading home from the regional West Point Academy prospective students meeting, is there an issue sir?" "Oh cool! Nah I just wanted to let you know you should get your window tint checked out sometime!.....So West Point huh? Thats neat, have a good one young man."..."thanks sir will do!" Just make stuff up or be polite...if its a state cop, good luck, the one's i've run into give 0 slack..

run a 3" vibrant stealth muffler. They are flat black and sound amazing, not loud at all. They are also straight through, so restriction isnt an issue.

The only time I've had any trouble in Bedford (county OR city) was when I did something to deserve the trouble. I've owned several cars and bikes with loud exhaust and never had an issue... not with Roanoke County, not with Roanoke City, not with Bedford County/City, not anywhere. I think a lot of it has to do with profiling. What kind of car were you driving Llama? I know you were selling a Mustang and an Expedition, but I would venture to guess you weren't in either of those. I'm not denying that police do profile, and possibly get a hard on to write tickets for things that seem irrelevant and petty, but I've never been able to agree with people who make it seem like the cops are just waiting ready to bust your balls.

Sherie: Is your exhaust obnoxious at all to the point where someone may have complained? Do you usually cruise around in a relatively low gear and high rpm? Usually there's a certain RPM in each gear that you sort of have a sweet spot in and it makes your exhaust virtually silent when you're in that spot. Obviously get an exhaust that doesn't draw so much attention and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Truthfully, I'd say the coolest officers I've met in my many run in's with police were state troopers. You're usually not going to fair well no matter what jurisdiction an officer is if they're newbies, because they want to make a name for theirself. There are exceptions to that and I've seen it with my own two eyes (for instance, a young Roanoke City officer letting a drunk driver go with a seat belt ticket... this guy was hammered, and he did a burnout through the intersection in front of Corned Beef. all he got was a seatbelt ticket. The officer was laughing about how drunk he was ) In some cases, young officers want to be known as the cool cops... and of course, in some cases, many of them want to follow in Officer Fuller's steps.

Like I said, you may have occassionally come through bedford city, but you've never been it on a daily basis, especially not on a bike or your ass would be sore. How do I know this about you? You'd be singing a different tune. They harass sport bikes more than anyone.

I was pulled for the inspection in a ford explorer that didn't have any mods whatsoever, complete, bone stock, old-man ford explorer. I got a noise ordinance ticket in the expedition for music... funny, I was talking to the guy in the passenger seat in a normal tone, and he could hear me over top of the stereo. Pretty much, they think full size suv with young person = drug dealer... they were just profiling. As far as the pustang, I avoided the city like the plague or I would've got tickets out the ass.

Remember Willie? The "ur a homo" guy? He got a reckless ticket for turning his tires over, not a burn out, in wal-mart parking lot. Ask fash00 here on the forums abuot the 1,000 bullshit times he's been pulled in bedford and the 900 tickets he's gotten. Ask qwkcoupe on here about being pulled the other day for no reason, having a cop lie to him and give him a bunch of bullshit... or about the time he had to file a complaint against a city cop because he pulled him 4 times in the same week and followed him around.

I'm not saying 100% of the time that being pulled over wasn't warranted, but the record speaks for itself. You've got people that really don't cause trouble, don't fly around 90 mph with fart cans being fucked with because they're young.

That has what to do with your eye rolling that bedford cops don't harass young and non-white people?

IMO I've spent plenty of time in Bedford... No, I've never lived there, and I can't argue that. I'm just saying the only time I had a problem was when it was my own damn fault.

No shit to the non-white people comment though... You'll get that in virtually any small town. I like to call it a "traditional town."

Hell, maybe they are assholes.. but I think the bottom line is that they have unfortunately been given a reason to profile. Not Bedford specifically, but police in general. Stereotypes are often moderately accurate if you think about it. I'm not talking about racially, but I am referring more or less to modified cars, suv's, etc.
