Is it extra to have you guys spray only part of the wheel? i.e. leave a lip polished, but coat the rest of the rim? I've got a few sets of rims I'd like Powder Coated... but I like having a polished lip... Let me know.

okay check this out, i called bay mechanical and talked to the guy that actually runs the powder coating division. He said he couldnt qoute me a price but i asked him on a high end side what am i looking at for 4 18x8.5 aluminun konig imagines powder coated. he was like $40-$50 per rims which isnt that bad , and it really depends on the color and texture you wanted. basically he said high end (meaning off the wall colors and guess smooth finish) around 40-50 . but depending on what you wanted it could get up to 100 per rim. and plus you have to have th etire unmounted prior they dont unmount tires there.

i hope this helps anyone out there.....

hey i got a question for everyone. i have a silver mustang (sorry its not an import , but whatever) black widow body kit (first one on east coast with it) and i have 18" silver konig imagines should i get my rim powder coated black or gunmetal with a the silver lip? just wanted everyone opinion

Another cheaper option is to use POR-15. 1 pint (approx $25) should be enough to do four wheels.

This stuff is very strong/hard. It won't chip or crack and dries VERY slick/shiny. It dries with no pores so nothing will stick to it. It will stand the test of time and be really easy to clean.

You can get it in a clear coat to put over paint, chrome, metal, whatever. Or you can get it colored and don't need a clear coat.

If you do go with it then use the best brush you can afford. If you use a cheap brush to put it on the hairs from the brush will end up in the paint and on your freshly painted wheels. Good Brush is important!!

Not sure if anyone sells it around here. You can get it directly from http://www.por15.com/ or from http://www.aircooled.net/new-bin/vie...OR0001&cartid=
