well thanks every one for their help i tried most of the advise people told me to but it didn't seem to help much the best way to not get a ticket for exhuast in va is to go stock. (thats what the judge said) but in the end i had to pay $105. $55 for court fee and $50 for exhuast. but i think if i didn't say much in the court room i might have go off cuz the cop didn't have enough evidence. thanks again to every one who helped.

ok...ok...to continue this....you paid for the ticket and everything right...so if you get pulled over again with the N1 exhaust still on will they give you another fix it ticket or will they impound...i have 20% tint and i got pulled over for it.... if they pull me over agian what will they do????

 

i've been pulled over three times for exhaust, just tickets no impound

 

ok after asking a few people this is what I got out of it. Any modification which alters pollution levels are illegal. So far so good, any modification in which the safety of the vehicle is altered is illegal. And the only solid thing that makes most exhausts, especially the ricer ones illegal, is that they are too loud. The legal db's for exhausts are 98 or 97, can't remember, and so therefore is considered a public nuisance. I've seen some people get out of these tickets but only a few. Just don't get caught without a cat, big ass ticket. pz

 

in VA your not allowed to modify the car other than stock, they don't care about anything else....at least in FFX

 

the odds are you go to the case with pics of a stock exhaust car and the cop wont even show up. case dimissed.

 

cops love exhuast... ive had mine on for a little over a month and have been pulled twice... resulting in a driving on suspended and expired license..

 

yeah I always pay for my tickets ... I have a phobia of courthouses

 

with about 2 years of driving with 3" exhausts I have 9 Tickets just for that plus many more for other things they find wrong when they pull me over(suspension mods, no cat, out of date instection, etc). What i was told by a local cop freind was one of the biggest money makers from tickets is aftermarket exhaust cause there is so many, so the goal for 2004 is to pretty much pull over as many as possible.
