The samething happened to me, and the cop is trying to get me for reckless.

Court is on the 27th, so I'll let you know how it goes.

It pretty much fucked my insurance up, but my lawyer is pretty positive that the charge will either get dropped, or they'll drop it to improper (where I'll get a smallish fine and some community service)

ok, had court today. this is the deal. the car is still in the shop. bad alignment might have caused the accident due to high rear camber. if i can bring a sheet showing that the alignment is fixed, the charge is dropped. if not, it is bumped down to improper driving and i get a $200 fine.

it pays to wear a nice suit to court

I got a ticket for this about 11 years ago. I had to either pay a $50 fine or take a driving class that cost $50.

good thing its all fixed, or almost anyways, but just so you know, an LSD will make your car spin out easier if its a rwd.

open differential: one wheels spins, the other still has traction.

I had the coolist cop one day that threaten me with the same charge. I was coming from church road onto cascades prkwy and I was like ahh what the hell I feel like letting the rear out a little so I put it in 2nd blipped the clutch and went side ways but had control. Next thing I know 30 sec later im pulled over and the cop is running my tags and Licence ect ect... Comes back and says "sir do you know why I pulled you over?" I said yes sir my tires broke loose. He said correct sliding around a turn is un safe and is wreckless driving. BUT at this time in the VA state law's there is not a lower charge then wreckless driving and I dont think you were being wreckless because you had control but Next time just be safe and try not to let the car slide out from you. Have a good day.

Good luck man in court. Get a lawyer and try to fight it all I can say.

Yea man i would definetly get a lawyer they may cost you in the begining, but they sure save you in the end. When i got reckless driving without a lawyer they charged me 490 dollars and 90 liscense suspension for first offense. that was for going 84 in a 60 up by dc in prince williams county. I appealed it got a lawyer came back to court and got of with only 100 ticket and no points.

I just got all charges dropped against me in my reckless case. They said that the state did not have a persuasive arguement against me.
