what I didnt mention is that most likely when I dyno it tommorow its gonna be putting down somewhere around 350whp, give or take 15whp. But like I said, Ill take his money If hes up to giving it away.
well its june 8th now, what kind of power did it put down...

also, from a roll, at about 40-45mph, the 350whp car will destroy the 400whp truck with ease.

I think you'd be suprised. VW torque numbers usually stay pretty close to the HP numbers.

I've got a ~320whp GTI and I run within about a tenth of a local KB lightning... Just thought I'd throw that out there. Stock Lightnings I destroy.

.. from what I've seen, modded 1.8t's put down about 20-30% less tq than hp.. now that's no 50-60% like on a Honda, but it's still a big difference, especially when the Lightning's torque comes on around 1000rpm and sticks til redline.

.. and wtf does your V6 have to do with anything?

this isnt always true... on the stock turbo, a modded 1.8t will make about 20-30% more torque than hp...
hell on the stock turbo, back in 02', i happen to put dfown 270ftlbs, and only 213whp.

most 1.8t's make more torque than hp while on the stock snail and modded.

Because the numbers that he'll probably put down are very similar to what I put down at low boost. Any torque advantage I have would be offset by the fact that he's carrying around less weight than I am by a couple hundred pounds. So I'm thinking he should run VERY similar numbers to my current setup. Seeing as how I've raced quite a few Lightnings I think my experiance would probably carry over to him.... Unless he's a douche, then I hope he gets rear ended by a big rig.

I concur about the stock turbo and more torque than hp.

My relatively lightly modded 1.8T makes quite a bit more torque than it does horsepower.
