he wrecked. probably should of been a failure to maintain but it depends on what the cop thinks you were doing. If i went to a accident scene and saw an RX7 burning into the ground on the side of a straightaway i would have to imagine he was doing some ridiculous speed or something, aka, driving wrecklessly. You could always fight it, but i doubt you'll win.

It's gonna be i think 6 points on your license for 2 or 4 years, can't really remember but your insurance is fubared for the next few years.
also, i doubt your tire would of blown out, you'd of known about it. Those shredded tires pieces are all up & down 81 from the semi's.

No, the tire I found was mine. I know Michelin Pilot Sport Comp's well. The tread on the piece was mine.

Well, shit roll with that story then. maybe they'll reduce it to improper. Just a $40.00 ticket. I think that's what you should of gotten anyways. What did you tell the cops when they showed up?

I told them I don't know what happened that as soon as I hit the bridge it got sideways and I ran off the road.

Most of the time if you have a good story they'll at least reduce it, unless you did something stupid like I did.

You blew your tire. Fight it in court. Not guilty.

Driving the speed limit on a rainy road is considered wreckless driving believe it or not... If the road is safe at that speed dry, it isnt wet. And driving too fast for a hazardous road condition in virginia is a no no.

Regardless, plead not guilty. If you didn't save the piece of tire, go to the junkyard or something and cut off a chunk of tire and take it into the court as evidence. The reason attorneys are so effective is not because they're honest--it's because they're convincing! I don't think this is a situation for morals; You're honestly not sure what happened, seem to be convinced that a tire blew, but swear that you weren't driving like an idiot.. do you really deserve to have a reckless driving charge on your record for the next 5 years? Think about your insurance rates...
