i am with mostly everybody else...where if you take care of these major concerns

1.location
2.lots of apparel with wide variety of brands
3.competetive prices
4.knowledgeable staff
5.something extra...like tvs, lounge area, tattoo parlor...something to make you different than everybody else

and lastly use events and rides to get your name out and let everybody know what you are about

ohhh and i see your talking about a strip mall as a location....how do you think the businesses next to you are going to react when the parking lot of full of bikes and guys riding around all the time.....a strip mall might get you some business enemies faster than you would like.....just my .02 cents

+1 I work at mikes surf shop, and we have a skate park in that back. So we get complaints from the busness owners nearby sometimes about kids skating in no skating zones, lol. But all the food places love us and could care less, i eat free chick-fil-a almost every time i work, haha

It might also get some people curious that hadn't though about sportbikes and get some new blood into it! More than likely, it will cause hate and discontent...either way, your name will get out there!!

I would listen to octane on what he has to say as well, he has some good ideas, and from what I can tell a good head on his shoulder. It is always good to have about 3 years of capital expensed in excess of what you think you will need. Figure on operating at a loss for the first 5 years. I believe you can actually show a loss in VA for that amount of time without penalty.

And did Steve let you know he needs a job??!!

And if it doesn't become an HAI affiliate, you know I can hook ya up with the website...for discounts of course!! If it is HAI, I am sure they would want to do it themselves though...either way, I will help if I can.

And good luck!

Not trying to be rude, especially to a fellow Kawi rider.. but your web design is awful from a professional point of view. Are you new to the game? If the Lazy Dog Design website is yours, and the portfolio items are yours.. you might want to do some practicing before trying to put your name out there. Again, not trying to be mean. I'd be glad to give you some help and advice.

I knew that was going to sound more harsh than I meant for it to.. I really, truly, did not mean it to sound as harsh as it did. I almost went back and deleted that post altogether.

I don't do it for a living either, but I've been contracted many times for freelance work and in some cases done it for free, and in other cases made a hefty lump of money off of it.

I was mainly just intending to offer him some suggestions and advice before he goes and represents a business with that stuff..
