A little crazy, but not impossible. I know of 7 people who have done it. From S13s/S14s/S15s..... Its not a straight up swap like a skyline motor in a 240 but the cost of the swap is about the same.

And I agree, the RX7 is a hell of a lot better than an RX8

I've always like 240's over RX8 but if your willing to spend money on an RX8 there are far better car's you can get

and yes, everyone is right about the RX7>RX8

That's correct, however. It would fit ME better. Not everyone's priorities are the same. The RX-8 is SLOW, but it handles GOOD. with that said, its fast. To me at least, if you cant go fast around turns, then all the power is worthless. A car that handles good, beats a car that has a lot of power. Period....

It does suck that it gets like 18 mpg (hgwy) ...... I think

And for those in Favor of "Rx7>RX8"... You'll spend more time fixing an RX& than on the road. dont get me wrong, i agree with all of you on Rx7>Rx8, but Rx8 is more practical and reliable.

Now, dont think i am a Rx8 fan. i'm just talking what i think and im 100% sure is correct. If it was me, not buy a an Rx7, in fact i would NEVER even consider one.

Yeah, not to mention a used RX7 will still be exspensive as balls...for what you get...and if i dont get the 240, i want something reliable...so RX7 isnt an option for me, but thanks for the honesty and advice!

you could always do a ca18det 240sx...be alot cheaper and still make reliable power...its a pretty common swap and pretty simple as well

I like my s13 when it had the KA24E(sohc ftw, and it was automatic) on the highway it had good pull for a 2.4 liter motor. Its getting swapped out for a sr20 and will remain my DD. The car handles good now but will be even better when I upgrade the suspension. 240 styling is sleek and looks good.

I like the front end of the rx8, hate the rear end. Its cool sounding to rev to 9000rpm but I spanked one driving a 01 Prelude. They handle good out of the box.

If it was me and I was going to spend that much on a newer car I would choose something else. So for the two choices you gave I would go with a 240 because with that amount of money you would spend in a rx8 you could put into the 240 and make a way better car then a rx8. Hell you are almost there now. A ka24de 5spd 240 will keep up with a rx8 and with some suspension work will be better then a rx8 handling.

The 240 is a 4link setup, with stiffer suspension and adjustable parts there is a lot of potential.
