ODR SCCA Autocross at Pungo July 5th
If Sssupra is just going to spectate, then he can ride with you. It would be a wise thing to listen to what he has to say and I know he wouldnt mind riding with you and giving you a few pointers.
This would be my first time doing something such as autox. I think it would be a great opportunity to learn the limits of my car. Heres the catch, the thing that kind of holds me back is my lack of knowledge for holding lines, approach on turns and just getting lost on the track with all those damn cones! I wouldn't mind if all my runs are fun runs due to having a passenger, any of you vets up to help a newb? Im 24 and drive a slightly modded s2k.
Thanks in advance!

walk, walk, walk, and oh, walk the course. watch as many runs as you can, get david(sssupra) to ride with you, make sure he secures his phone though.
its really not that hard, just dont panic. i took my miata out the 4th? day i had it i think, and i had never done any performance driving, ever, so its not super difficult. now to be fast is a different story
I just did an autox at VMP with NASA and it was a BLAST. Be prepared to work the course though so bring a golf (read HUGE) umbrella and or goofy fisherman's hat (just in case you can't use the umbrella) and a shit-ton of Gatorade for when you do. My station was near a 90-degree Chicago box and the people driving the heat I was working took out the last cone so often they destroyed it. We had to switch it with another. That was a lot of running back and forth from the station to the downed cones.
Wear sunscreen unless you're lucky and are naturally tan. I'm red now because I didn't.
EMPTY your car, shit will fly from places you forgot about. I found a bottle of water by surprise.
And your first run, take it slow and make sure you don't miss any gates. Go as fast as you would with your mom riding with so you can concentrate on lining up the gates and getting them all in your mind for when you balls-out it. I did and I never went off course in my 7 runs, and it was my first time EVER. Other vets went off course 2-3 times. When I was working the course, we got scared a few times from people heading the wrong way- jumped behind the lightpole we were at. We started pointing the right way after the 3rd person in a row made a mistake.
