The best thing to do is just pay it. I got one in my friends integra. I have a friend who is an inspector and he gave me a copy of the law and it pretty much said that you can have the system, but when i went infront of the judge he ask the cop if it was a coffe can, the cop said yes and i got fined $250. what pissed me off is that i had the VA law in my hand and he didn't care to read it.

 

Nothing you can do..pay the ticket...and look to get pulled again...

Haha thats funny, I got a compliment that my exhaust sounded real good from an officer in the Lowes parking lot in sully today. By the way its a 360 Ram with gibson headers high flow cat and flowmaster 2 chambers...in other words its pretty damn loud. But yeah they do hate on the imports, I have a FFX county cop close in the faimly that can tell me stories all day long.

 

Ya i think its bull that you can go to a gas station and get a state inspection w/ all your aftermarket parts and get a new sticker(depending on how leinent your inspector is) but yet if your driving down the road cops can pull you over for that crap. it dosent make sense that it can pass for safety insp but cops can pull you over for it. cops need to get there act together.

first off in the state of VA anything added to the car thats not oem is illegal. Sorry.
a 30 dollar ticket i wouldent be bitchen about my exhaust ticket in VA beach cost 96 bucks. All i gotta say is this. Take a picture of the car with a stock muffler on and take that to court to show them that you changed exhaust and then they will drop it. but in your case court cost= your ticket so your better off jsut paying it but if its like mine 100 bucks fight it and take a pic its really easy.

just pay the ticket. Shit sucks though, cause if you ever have to have a judge look at your driving record you have stupid shit like exhaust and suspension tickets. The judge then thinks your a menace to society and shit.haha Well just in fairfax, cops in other counties dont care.

 

SilverBullet86, thats not true. any exhaust thats comparable to a stock one is legal, as long as its under 96 dB. Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Bosal, Borla, etc. that DONT have Fart cans or 4"+ tips are legal as long as its under the dB limit and dosent look too aftermarket. i have a custom Magnaflow exhaust on my car and ive never gotten any trouble from the FFX cops, and i live in Herndon/Oak Hill. shit, ive even had cops pull up next to me and tell me how NICE my exhaust sounds...so i guess thats a good sign :-)

 

Fairfax sux.....lol
