what are ur plans with this motor?.....im using an auto ka and mating i with a manual trans..how hard is it to remove the pilot bearing?

If the motor is out like that It shouldn't be too hard to get it out.

Find something harder or just as hard as it. I used a huge metal punch. pry it out in a circle. it takes a bit sometimes. my hands were numb after i was done. most people use an air chisel.

No, Wrong. you're not supposed to use an air chisel because if you damage the crank, then you're fucked.

Use a hammer and a screwdriver, or use a slidehammer.

i use a 13 mill socket with a eltrical taped screw on it

then pack the motor with grease, shove the socket in, and hammer it in... the grease is like hydraulics



and if your at a friends with no grease, water/cut up paper mushy stuff works great!!

I just took a set of vice grips and it pulled right out... not that hard.

A good drill and small drill bit will get that automatic pilot bearing out faster then anything else. Just do a bunch of little holes in it and it'll crumble.

new pilot bearing/rear main seal/ oil pan gasket

trying to figure out how much im tearing down, if so piston rods/head gasket bearings the whole deal seems the only legit way. not sure yet

getting ka onto stand after doing pilot bushing/rear main


trying to figure out how much i can remove off the egr system, and what ahs to stay. thats a google question





k guys here a dumb turbo question since i dont know much about turbos... how do i tell if my manifold is top or bottom mount!@?

if its the manifold on the ka, its a bottom mount.

top mount mounts on top of the manifold.

bottom mount mounts on the bottom of the manifold.
