They just dont understand that you tune an NA car for a different A/F than a FI.

But all that being said, I dont agree about running 12.5 A/F on a turbo car.

Ive run those A/F and above plenty on my car (although it is built). Jeff runs that A/F on a stock KA and is making as much whp as Chris.

The reason for running richer is to either to give more room for error, and/or to quiet detonation by lowering combustion temps due to the vaporization of the excess fuel. If your timing maps are correct, you dont need to run rich.

Would I put a customer's car at 12.5:1? No. I would tune it for high 11s. And that is only to protect them from being ignorant. Ultra rich isnt good either.

Arguing aside, good numbers Chris. Nice to see on a stock bottom end.

Yea I made an error, horsepower really was 442.99awhp. Looking at run #8 the tach signal was lost in the upper rpms, however if you look at the MPH based plot you can easily see HP still climbing. It reached a peak of 442.99awhp, and 369.64tq. Here is an overall view of all my runs:

You can see that I had some ignition issues apparently by how jagged some of the runs are.

Hey 16G-gsx, congrats again on the good numbers for such short dyno time... on a stock motor.

Agreed...sort of.

Definitely not trying to start an argument...especially on this forum

There's MUCH more to tuning that just saying..."yeah xx.x:1 makes the most power on any engine."

According to theory and SAE articles, the lowered CC temperatures due to the vaporization of excess fuel are almost insignificant...and not significant enough to deter detonation. I'm not going to say anymore, because dragva isn't the place to argue this.

It was actually a urine mixture.... not pump gas or race gas.

My dad can beat up your dad

Seriously though, that's unfortunate that you have to make a statement at the beginning and end of your post about how you don't want to argue and how this isn't the place to discuss intelligent information about tuning. lol.. I really wish the general population on this forum were at least out of high school--or AT LEAST had the mentality of someone that would be out of middle school.
