crx dreams
If you want an ls vtec to rev you will need an ITR oil/water pump, forged rods/pistons, and DEFINATELY some ARP rod bolts. You will also need to do some work on your valvetrain to be sure you dont get any floating valves.
I was talking about ls vtec with a couple guys on Honda-tech. I have been told that there are ls bottom ends that rev to 9200 with stock ls cranks driven daily. A lot of people on H-T agree that the ls crank is balanced enough to rev pretty high with only minor uprgrades such as oil/water pump, forged rods/pistons, and ARP rod bolts...

doesent work
they dont bolt up
and from what i understand, the motors spin in different directions
please prove me wrong
I think an s2k motor would be badass in a crx. It can definately be done but it would take a lot of custom fabrication and a lot of cutting into the crx. You would probably have to extend the front end to make room for the motor because yes the motor is mounted sideways. You would definately need to custom fabricate some motor mounts. You would need to cut out in the center of the car to make room for the driveshaft, I guess you could cut out the center and weld a piece of drain pipe over where you cut. It will just be a big hump in the center of the car. Throw some big ass slicks on the back and you have a fun little track car.

The way they made the s2k RWD was by turning the motor sideways so they can run a drive shaft out the back of the tranny. Would cost a lot of money to put in a crx but if you did it it would be pretty fast and really cool. The only thing is, after you are done with the swap the crx will not really be a crx anymore. The front clip will be tubular to make room for the motor, and there will be a driveshaft running down the center, with the rear suspension from an s2k.
