I actually think the Cobalt is decent considering it's price and the incentives.

There's nothing more quality than those cars for the money, but there's plenty less quality.

Regardless, it's still not a lot of quality. Cobalts are decent for the price, and only within that context. You can only expect but so much from a cheap car.

Exactly, and his price range doesnt exactly give him the option to go for high end quality when he's looking at $20k cars.

Go used, one to two years old. More car for the money, and that Cobalt is going to nose dive in value anyway..

I agree to go used, but even used, he's not going to get too much higher quality than that car.

I will agree there, but he his getting big employee discount and getting the car at 0% interest. Hard to argue with the value. I'm sure he'll be able to get the new car for cheaper than a used one and there is no bank giving 0% on a used car.

All a TC is, is a 2 door camry. So he must have a lemon or just abuse his car. I have heard nothing but good things, or I wouldn't have bought one.

I'm not looking for anything top of the line
I am looking for an inexpensive payment.
I am moving out and paying for a car so there needs to be a balance.
If I wanted to pay 500 a month I'd just go with a Legacy GT or so. However, it's not my goal. I will get a whole lot less car with a used car. Higher interest and not to mention, you never know what happened to that car. Sure I could squeeze into a Lexus IS300 or a 2001 GS300, but really, it's not what I want. and it'll be a higher payment, even if the same price.
Anyhow, I think I made the decision to either keep the TC, or go with trading it for a 07 manual. I'm not big into the whole car thing anymore and unless I buy one with performance from the factory I won't have any, because I really am done modding shit, also if I get the SS I will get the mod bug I'm sure, and that's not what I want to focus on right now.

My big thing is to get out of an auto. I hate it.
