Illegal exhaust questions.... got a ticket
whe it comes to exhaust here the choices.
a) leave it stock. "on too next option"
b) buy a muffler put it on. "even if its illegal"
c) get a tunable exhaust "option im shooting for"
d) return to the stock exhaust "get it reduced to a fix it ticket"
just so ya know im not tryn to be a dick, but in the past when i have got my exhaust tickets i didnt bother fighting em. I broke the law and paid the price.
Also take that chrome exhaust and paint it flat black. IMHO the less flash you have on your car the less likey you are going to get pulled.

No use in fighting it. The judge WILL side with the officer. You will be given a discount to prepay the ticket. If you show up at trial and are found quilty (count on it) you will incur additional fees. There may be even more of a fine if you dont show and pay later.
And yes, Progressive does charge you for non-moving violations. I had progressive for 7 years up to 2004. At renewal, my premium went from 118/ month to 227/month. When I inquired, they cited the one expired inspection ticket and the illegal exhaust ticket and the potential rise in all insurance rates due to the severe hurricane season. My agent then found another company for 115/month.

its proven cars that sound good can get away with being louder than cars that sound bad.
i would look at this as an opportunity to quiet the exhaust with a turbo.
