With every other warranty company there are legal clauses that protect that Company from things like this. A warranty claim is just that, but if you abuse it and make a false claim, they do not have to pay the repair. This happens with all companies and the dealership eats the repair.
All I'm saying is that a separate claim should not be denied solely on the fact that a previous shop messed up. I understand that the claims get messed up all the time and that the shops sometimes eat the repair costs, but the warranty co is stepping outside of its bounds for denying a claim solely based on a prior repair.

I'm not sure exactly what you are describing, but the insurance co is obligated to pay for damages to your covered vehicle. It's the adjuster's job to determine what to pay for. I've been through this a couple of times and I don't see much room for me to gain anything. I have had extra work done at the same time, but the difference in cost was covered out of pocket.

On the flip side, I have seen repair shops that make repairs and bill for parts that weren't installed. The insurance co takes car of the car owner but goes after the repair shop.

I also agree with you here...the part mfg warranty should cover it if that is the case...but a good shop will take care of this anyway.

I asked my coworker who used to work there more details. He said Carmax is one of the best places to buy a used car because their guidlines for cars they will sell is quite strict. Anything that doesn't meet their standards is wholesaled.

He said the warranty company will do what they say but you do have to fight them some times. Or, as he put it, know how to play that game.

The problem I had with them is they tell you, the tech how much you well get paid, when Toyota pays more for the same job. They also lower the price of the part too. They dictate how much they will cover. I dealt with them when I worked at Haley. I mainly just deal with their Service Dept when they send a car over to us.
