Sad I have to bump this, it's been two years now of him saying he is going to pay me. Now I haven't heard from him in a month or so and since this thread he still has made no payments. Total is still 2500 owed.

Anyone have information? Phone, address, job?

You should have put a lien on the title and kept a spare key. Add a little contract and then you have every right to go get the car, no matter how much of the debt he has paid off.

I know this doesn't help you now, but keep it in mind for the future. If you have a lien on a car the car is legally YOURS, untill the lien is satisfied.

 

Yea I had that done, once I took him to court I figured it wouldn't matter so I turned the title over to him. I have the judgment against hime so I can file for garnishment over and over again.

 

...and the answer is.... after reading this thread, I think you know you made a mistake when he said he will pay up, after he had already proved that he wouldn't.
