thats definitely a redtop bro... def. not an s15 redtop.. they only had notch blacktops

its a later model s13 redtop

 

its a huge debate on what SR is what. Most black top Sr's had a set of fins on the head like Davids. Hummm.....

As far as welding start out with relative low feed speed and low temp. When welding that it should sound like the crispiest bacon you have ever cooked. A gas welder does work a lot better though.

not like its that big of a deal anyway... no difference mechanically between the redtops and blacktops.... just if it came out of a silvia or 180sx

 

Some say does fins are for cooling, but I really doubt that. I have build SR's with both heads and nothing really changed. Either way nice pick up and Im slowly becoming a "FAN".

 

The kouki black top S13 SRs have a 'better' oil pick up (it is the same as the S14 SRs). It's just a bigger opening with a slightly different angle.
