replaced rear main seal/regasketed seal cover
removed studs with double nutting






love this bent tool for removing the rtv out of the little dip ins....





ill grab a pilot bearing before the motor goes in i guess also.




why didnt i just remove the whole oil pan? should i? i wanted to get the rear main out of the way before it goes on the stand... i DID rtv the bottom portion of the seal cover to the pan to ensure its sealed at the corners... if i take the upper pan off ill just scrape it off and reseal



started to replace trans seals









QUESTION! i dropped the seal when i popped it out.. this input one.
is it in backwards? how do i tell? not familiar which way these bastards go in

can anyone confirm my trans seal ?

 

I've never messed with the transmission seals before so I am not sure. I can check it out in the FSM when I get my home computer unpacked which should only be another day.

 

trans seals are ideal to replace. very easy. and you save your money buy not having to buy tons of trans fluid as you leak. and you dont get fluids everywhere

there like 8 bux or 4 bux a pop and autozone carries them

that would be sweet. i like being spoonfed XD
and go ahead and find out which order the rings and snap rings go on lol

Did not see this topic before I posted my own on this vehicle. Thinking of picking one up man , a notchback though just because I personally think they are nice looking. Hows the build going man? let me know dude and if need be we can sit down and bs about it. seriously fkn interested in doing one of these now.
