yes the car has a conservative tune on it but untill i get it to stop smoking im not going to tune further. im now actually not positive that vtec is engaging anymore. the aem says it is but i dont know if that actually activated the vtec solenoid.
but i will tell you i have really not had any problems with my setup so if its done right you should not have any problems

Theres nothing wrong with boosting lsvtec. your motor wont be any less reliable with a vtec head than with an LS head ( assuming it was installed correctly and compression is the same. The point of lsvtec is to put the better flowing heads of a b16 or b18c on the torquey ls bottem end (supposedly best of both worlds) the problem occurs when people put them together incorrectly or think they can rev there stock bottem end to 9k (or sometimes less). if you build your bottem end you can rev it higher. but the ls rod/stroke ratio prevents it from being as reliable as other motors at higher RPM's(higher piston speeds) therefore there is a limit to how much you should rev your motor

golden eagle is a good company to get them from.

How ever when runing the oil line for Vtec dont use a brass t fitting... I've seen a few of em brake at thetrack... Which makes life a pain in the ass, between runs...
yes it can be done that way but if you misalighn the head you could blow head gaskets and blow oil but that is probably the main reason people have problems because they try to get by on the small stuff like a 10buck part like dowel pins
but i do agree DO NOT use brass for the T fitting

just installed one in a customers car under my recomendations. I would not have recomended it to him if I thought there would have been any issues. I would defenitly recomend the Golden Eagle kit and possably the Endyne breather. Just dont over rev the stock block you should have no problems. mainly people that have issues with lsvtec is due to poor workmanship, wrong parts, or over rev.
i have a boosted ls/vtec i drive it everyday and not had one problem except for a low rev here and there but nothing to worry about but my bottom end has jdm type-r intenals and im using a gsr head which all know raises compression due to the smaller combustion chambers it was all motor before and i just threw a 3 mm headgasket and a nice fine tune on a hondata s200 and im good to go all day not gas is just a killer lol
