Payments would have been $450+/mo. for the damned thing.
Maybe I can sell my car and get a half-way decent down payment I'd get one.

I dunno if that's a good or bad thing.
What Mitsu is doing w/ the warranty is a bad thing. Basically this is what it all boils down to: You have to be smart. I might have enough money to buy an EVO, but the question is: Do I have enough money to fix it if I take it AutoXing? If not, I might wanna keep it to simple drag racing. You won't have to worry as much about breaking shit. OR you could just be REAL smart and not do anything crazy w/ it at all.

I've got an AEM SRI and a DC TCS catback exhaust and I'd be lucky if I picked up 5whp. The computer is ULEV, so it readjusts the fuel maps and stuff because of the larger volume of air.
If you really want to tune it, you're going to need to get an Apex'i VAFC2/SAFC2. If you've got an EX, get the VAFC2. It'll allow you to change your VTEC engagement points, along with fuel curves and whatnot. That's what I'm planning on doing.
The only real way you're going to get any power out of these things are going to be through a turbo setup or K20 swap. You can go the nitrous route, but be careful. I've talked to too many guys that I've blown their D17 on the giggle gas.

i know a bud who has the exact same setup as mine, intake header, exhaust on a 2002 EX. his peak HP rating (not at wheels) was 147 on the dyno. so that is roughly 120-125?? no? im not sure. and if a zex kit is deleterious to my car, then im gonna have to just leave my cars setup at what it is now. i made the mistake of buying a 7th gen with the hopes of modifying it. if i had the opportunity, i woulda def. gotten a 6th gen, and boosted it. but hell, im happy w/ what i have, and i love my car. i guess that means i can forfeit money for zex and get goodies like a CF hood and mugen front lip

and to the dude w/ the prism.... dont compare my car to a geo fucking prism god damn. thats almost insulting dude.
hey specter, why are you gonna go with a dry shot? The wet kit works so much better than the dry on our cars. I really think that is the best route to take. seriously.
