are you coming to any meets down near the southside? I just got my motor in so I still have some work to do before I take it way up there. I'd like to run. Just a question....How do you think you'd stand up against a '93 lude with a JDM H22 with I/H/E?

Horsepower is a HUGE factor in drag racing.

Alot about hte down side of VTec and why I think the s2000 is very over rated, if you love the car more power to you, but I just feel there are better, more valuable cars out there to choose from...

so you can't hit vtec until 3rd gear? weird...

I just cant see that happening. From a stop torque is not the only factor. Where talking about a good launch, traction, etc...... The b16 C/R is much higher than the b18b. Thus more HP. Also, the B16 rev much higher and b16 has a better flowing head . Personally, the b16 tranny is much better for the streets. You said Hp has nothing to do with drag racing. Where did you get that from?HP has nothing to do with drag racing! What!!

I have yet to here any facts on why "Vtec" or the b16 cant perform it's task.

My understanding of VTEC is it engages after a specific RPM or an adjustable setting (read vtec controller) regardless of gear. When engaged, oil pressure "locks" an extra roller that makes contact with the more aggressive lobes on the cam. It really is just 2 cam profiles on 1 cam- 1 for low end, driveability and the other for top end power.

It works well, and Im a NIssan guy.
