VTEC is over-rated
are you coming to any meets down near the southside? I just got my motor in so I still have some work to do before I take it way up there. I'd like to run. Just a question....How do you think you'd stand up against a '93 lude with a JDM H22 with I/H/E?

Alot about hte down side of VTec and why I think the s2000 is very over rated, if you love the car more power to you, but I just feel there are better, more valuable cars out there to choose from...

almost everytime i raced a b16 hatch, i jumped at least a car and a half off the line..... it doesnt start pullin until mid 3rd gear, that gear is when his vtec comes into play.... so i would have you for much more then the 60 mark.

I have yet to here any facts on why "Vtec" or the b16 cant perform it's task.

My understanding of VTEC is it engages after a specific RPM or an adjustable setting (read vtec controller) regardless of gear. When engaged, oil pressure "locks" an extra roller that makes contact with the more aggressive lobes on the cam. It really is just 2 cam profiles on 1 cam- 1 for low end, driveability and the other for top end power.
