Anyone here have access to street racing related incidents within 757? I need the info to do a report, for evidence of the tracks usefulness to the surrounding counties.
if you have nothing positively track related- please stay out.

Just take a trip out to Hawaii and talk to the Hawaii raceway officials...They leased the land that the track was built on and its about to close down sence the land owner wont renew. I'm sure they are interested in opening another track somewhere the same way. I would present to them VB's intrest in a venue. After going there, Invite them for a first hand look at the scene. You'd have to work hard with the top local teams from vb to MD. i highly doubt VB could make it worth while on its own. Plus you'd want to show people are willing to travel from far and its not just for locals.
Anyway thats how i'd do it. I got two dollars saying it will never happen tho.

it would be a lot more likely to happen if you tried to start this as a 1/4 track and then expanded with a road track later, once the initial cost has been recovered ($200k investement instead of $500k)

if we build a dragstrip first, and while we are going out looking for backing/sponsorships etc, if we were to give them a price line for a dragstrip first, let that earn its money, then build a road course..
Sonoma, California has a drag strip built into the front stretch, they run NASCAR, Rolex, GT on the road course and both IHRA and NHRA have events on the drag strip.

If this is to change in Anyway-regarding the Road Course- then someone needs to architect that change. I have no problem flexing. but this changes my involvement. Time frame till road course is built? Will it ever happen?
Anyone notice the MonoRail that was at ODU? notice it never finished?
Whats to say the Road course will ever be finished?
A plan that involves all of this, has a better chance, than just a drag strip. amongst other things talked within the core group- The police may still desire to use space for training. which is fine- but a drag strip is insufficient to allow such a thing.
this can work....get a towing company behind it cause ya know if the 4x4's are gonna be out they will get stuck eventually....and not everyone has a winch....also if the cars break down they will be needing a tow....the cops can get behind it cause guess what....where will be 80% of the area's racers?in one location....if anyone remembers the parking lot down by rosemont we used to go to the cops said they liked us there cause they can keep better track of us...i mean this is something the community can get behind and ya never know it could grow into an actual venue for things like car shows and such...it is doable
