Base 999 are slow if you have a modern japanese 600 or 1000. The 999R is much better, but good luck affording one if u can find one. Personally, I'd never buy a 999 or 749. 1098/1198/848 yeah, maybe a nasty 748 but not a 999/748. The baby hypermotard is about $11k out the door, a 848 is about $14k otd. So they cost more than a new 600.
o well my prices are off.. still whats another 4 grand if your already getting a loan for 10+ for a 600..
and the 999 base makes more than a newer 600.. they make more hp/tq than mine, i know forsure..
we just sold a 999r for little over 15k and only had less than 4k miles.
4k more on a loan is typically an extra $200/month. If all else remains the same. They may be more powerful, but I still say that a modern 600 will smoke a base 999 around any track. A 999R, prolly not tho.
Could you pm me what else they discounted on sports bike wise? I'm 18 and paying for insurance is gonna kick my ass as soon as I get a bigger bike.
Kawasaki's and Harley's are the only other two that come to mind. I don't work there any more and pretty much made it a point to forget the unimportant shit.
