this only happens when i try and take off but its not all the time. it sounds just like a loose belt but its not because it only happens when i take off. im pretty sure its somethin to do with the clutch but before i replace it i want some opinions anybody?

could be a vacum leak. my civic did the same thing take some carb cleaner and spray around the intake manifold and if it revs up it's a leak where ever you sprayed.

Does it squeak when you push the clutch in and out? Does it do it when you change engine RPM suddenly?

It's most likely what you initially thought: a belt. Does the problem go away as the car warms up? Is the squeal more / less severe if you rev the engine suddenly while in neutral?

it's most likey one of your belts, my girlfriends car does the same thing when she pulls off from lights etc, and when she starts the car up sometimes. Try tightening up your belts and or get some belt dressing.

no it actually gets worse when the car warms up. im startin to think it might be the clutch because when i was goin up a steep ass hill the other day it started doin it a little. it only does it when i take off other wise though. thats it.

I have the same problem with the clutch in my car.. Spec stage 5 iron disc shit.. Squeals its ass off taking off in traffic.. No squeals when you dump it.

well it depends on if your taking off from a concrete runway or a runway with a blacktop type of sealant... if its the blacktop style runway its probably due to the temp. of the ground causing your tires to screach as you lift off.
