Default painting some HX's

Im like most people lookin for a cheap way out. is there any kinda spray good spray paint i could use to paint my HX's. i know spray paint turns out alright but im not sure the order in which to paint. sand, strip and paint. should i use primer and im guessing clear coat would be nice too. ANY input on using spray paint would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

before i had them powerdcoated, i sprayed my track wheels gunmetal with duplicolor wheel paint and clear coat. you can get it at any auto parts store. they came out ok... if they weren't track wheels, i wouldn't have been 100% satisfied, but then i put like 0 minutes into prep work. i don't think primer or stripping them will be necessary... just sand them and wash them really well.

What you'll want to do is probably sand a bit, wipe it clean, then use a gel-type aircraft stripper to remove the factory wheel paint and primer. When you get it all off, sand it and coat it with an adhesion promoter to help the paint stick. Do several fairly light coats of paint, then follow with a clearcoat.

I'm about to do mine in gold, with a polished lip.
