i just bought a 68m skunk 2 throttle body for my 2001 gsr, i need help putting the tps on it, it says use a volt me to calibrate it but im not sure what to set it at, any help would be appreciated

do a search on honda-tech for TPS voltage. you should find something.

 

lookin at around .5 to .6 volts sitting at idle and around 4.5 volts to 4.6 volts at wide open throttle...

i would still check on honda tech though

 

well its funny cuase thats what i thought but its backwards when it as idel it reads 4.x and when it is open it read .5. is it something im doing wrong?

 

What are you measuring in reference to, power or ground? This will flip the readings around..

TPS sensors usually have a power and a ground and signal. If you are using a multimeter, it measures the difference in voltage between the two probes. So if you're measuring a voltage, it matters where each probe is. FOr example, if you had a 1 volt output signal measured between the signal and ground, and you instead measured that 1 volt signal between the signal and (for example, 5 volt power) power, the multimeter would read 4V. Now it's measuring the difference between 5 volts and 1 volt, instead of 0 volts (ground) and 1 volt.

This is why your readings may be the opposite of what you may expect. I don't remember where the TPS signal is measured (signal to ground or signal to power) but I'm just explaining why you may be seeing what you are seeing.

 

o ok i understand now, i wnet and mesure a frends tps on a stock throttle body and his read .86 closed, and 4.86 open is this correct?
