water pump coupling problem
Hey Everybody,

Has anybody ever had there water pump coupling come of with the water pump when replacing the pump? I pulled mine off yesterday and the damn coupling came off on the water pump and for some reason will not come off. I know when a majority of people pull there's or it stays on the block but for some odd reason mine decided to come of with the pump. Has anybody else ever ran into this problem? If so how did you get it off? I know gm does sell just the coupling but it's 25 dollars that i dont have right now. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It can come off either way. It just looks like your is rusted on the pump side. I would just soak it good with PB Blaster and tap it with a hammer or wrench to lossen it up. If not, then heat it with a torch.

 

Yeah it looked pretty corroded probably just broke.I would get a new pump also
