Default 2004 Nissan Altima: Possible Bad Alternator

Went out tonight and car wouldn't start. Had to get someone to give us a jump and on the way home noticed a winding sound when accelerating. Got home and turned off the car and tried to start it again and it went dead again. Car is not that old. Can it still be the battery? Lights in the car turn on. Headlight or radio don't turn on. The auto door lock also stopped working. Going to Autozone to get both checked tommorrow. Any suggestions?

Sounds like alittle more of an issue than just the alternator if it acts dead but the lights still work. could be a ground.
