Default where do i start?

well extreme motorsports was driving my car and wammo the timing belt jumped and bent alll of the exhaust valves for sure (i can tell by the marks in the pistons) and i was wondering the extent of machine work that would nessary to throw the head back together to have the car running again. will the valve guides be messed up as well ?? and i know i will have to lap the valves myself but what elses is there to do??? i have gotten several opinions and still cant come up with a solid answer?

thank you in advance
Drew

im guessing everyone knows what Drew is driving right. nooooo. hehehe is this the dsm. hahaha. whats Lap the valves mean? New valves is a must. since your taken out the cams you might as well get the other valves grinded. its cheap. springs should be good. guides?? hummm. i guess it would all depend on how bad the valves are bent. you know how fast he was movin when the tbelt slipped? I would also get the head resurfaced while your at. thats my 2 cents.

see...should jave kept the honda. i got something for yeah when i move that way. i got the hottest sitting ready to eat a dsm.

lapping the valves refers to the process of getting a perfect contact area between the valves and the head. you take a small amount of grit compound, and spin the valve on the contact area. this will in turn, mill the valve as well as the head to create an even contact area. which in turn will be fckd up after about 3k miles of carbon build up. but it's good to start with a fresh contact patch.

the valve guides are the sleeve that are inside the head that the valves slide in and through.

he was in 1st gear at approx 20mph at 1/2 throttle easing away from a stop light when the car coughed, sputtered and died immediately... or at least that is what they tell me.

by grinding the valves, do you mean making the trumpet and stem smaller?
thanks for the info buddy.

send it out to a machine shop and get it done. depending how bad they are they might be able to reapir it with a angle valve job, if not replacing them will be the best solution
