Hey guys, my car is running weird, when i have it sitting there and i give it throttle, the rev up is delayed. I'm either thinking that there is a vacuum leak, or maybe my injector wires are mixed up. I was told that #1 cyl. is closest to the front of the engine, so where the crank pulley is. This is on a dohc zc. Let me know guys.

 

I think you need to be more specific with this delay. Does it sputter, or just rev slow, does it do it worse under a load (in gear)? Any sounds that are new, have you done anything major in the last few weeks?

 

hard to say, it's like u hear the air being sucked in, then it revs up, pretty much the same in gear and out of gear. The idle seems to be ok, and there is no intake piping on it right now either, but i have had that on other cars, and it didn't do this.

 

whens the last time you change your fuel filter and air fliter ? how many miles on the car? mine was doing the same tthing a few weeks ago and until i changed the filters then problem solved. it was like it had a slow/bogging reaction when i gave it gas in every gear and even worse when the ac was on.if it was a vacum leak then your car would idle real funny up and down when its just sitting ther like from 1rpm to 2.5 rpm consistencely .

 

Do you have an intake? I hear my intake make sucking noises all the time. Also, is your throttle cable tight?

 

There is no intake on the car, it is just from off the throttle body. I don't drive it regularly obviously, just pulling it out of my garage and such. The fuel filter is fine, i'm gonna try checking a few things now, so let me know if you guys have any ideas.

 

Are you letting it warm up before making any judgements about how it's running? Most engines are sluggish when cold..
