anyone want to replace a headgasket for me?

Default anyone want to replace a headgasket for me?

I need to have the headgasket replaced on my 95 honda civic lx daily driver. Soem of these shops around here want to charge an arm and a leg. wondering if anyone with the know how and elbow grease could help me out. I can help but am totally new to this. Willing to compensate. Please PM me if you can help me out. I live in the Kempsville area. Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm definitely willing to be involved in the replacement process but want someone with experience to do the replacement with me. Also not sure what I need to get for parts or where.

I've been quoted at $800 including parts and labor at a shop, how reasonable does that sound?

For a shop..that sounds about right. Replacing headgaskets are easy. Make sure you get a Headgasket set (new headstuds, head gasket, timing belt, might as well replace the water pump while your in there, thermastat..ect. Just something we always did at the shop I worked at)

I actually found a place that would do it for $438 including all parts and labor and 1 year warranty. I may still have randomtask help me though, because I'm interested in learning. How much do you suppose all the parts may cost?

not expensive at all...

partsamerica.com (it's advance auto parts' parts provider..) they're cheap and sell good shit.

Guys thanks so much for the responses and really appreciate all the offers. Mike (Bluetig757) and I did it this morning. Great guy and super smart would recommend to anyone that needs repairs!
