OK I am stuck at my sisters house in Nova. my car is stuck in netrual, i went to go put it in reverse, and it felt like the gear shift fell out of place, and now i cant get t into gear, please help.


is it the shift rod/link or gear selector or what.

check the linkage under the car and make sure everything is bolted up there...if thats fine, then pull up your shift boot and check the shifter and bushings to make sure a screw hasn't come loose...

if those aren't it then i would assume it's something inside the tranny...

 

if it feels like the shifter is still shifting but there are no gears you got a broken ring...part of the shifer assembly in the tranny...only way to fix that is open up the tranny...happened to me 3 years ago...

 

i can move the shifter in a upside down T shape, no shifting, i took apart the center console, cant see anything. where exactly under the car, its on a busy street so there isnt much time down there.

 

ok i checked under the car all linkages are together all from the shifter to the tranny are fine, so what can it be internally???

could be a lot of things...you just need to pull the tranny, open it up and look to find out.

 

are you fucking kidding me? dont do all that yet.

check your slave cylinder. make sure it has fluid.

 

word from the shop is my tranny is shot. slave cylinder and master are new. i think something just came off track inside somewhere.
