You don't even need to go to a DMV location, you can do all this online.

Just do a change of addresss on www.dmvnow.com, during the process, you will be asked wether your car will be garaged at the new address or not. Are you doing this because of school or emissions? Just so you know, as of 1/1/08, cars built prior to 12/95 will no longer require emissions, nationwide law.

Should be no problem, I had my old hatch garaged in Va Beach where at the time they didn't require emissions. Just make sure you are able to get mail at the new location because all corresponding mail from DMV will go there.

Same reason I had my car registered in Newport News........no emissions. It used to be that when a car was 20 years old you no longer needed to have emissions done. The law was changed a few years back requiring all cars since the mid 70's (when emissions equipment was first installed on cars) had to be tested. I hope that its true that they are doing away with emissions testing for cars <95.
